Shark Dives at Deep Sea World are offered only under the following Terms & Conditions.

Dive Night, Discover Scuba and Shark Awareness Course

• Deep Sea World reserves the right to cancel, alter of amend any of the times and dates without notice if operational or other circumstances requires us to do so.
• If Deep Sea World cancels, postpones or alters any of the dive events at any given time the participant accepts that Deep Sea World is not responsible or liable for any external costs. Examples would include travel costs, hotel costs. NB. This list is not exhaustive.
• Deep Sea World will only issue Dive Vouchers upon receipt of full payment.
• Provisional bookings are possible; however we will only hold places for a maximum of 5 working days within which time full payment for the dive must be received. Failure to pay within this time limit will result in the dive being cancelled and offered to the general public.
• If this is a surprise gift, please be aware that if the diver answers ‘yes’ to one or more of the questions on the PADI medical form, their dive must be authorised by their GP. Without this authorisation the dive will not go ahead.
• If the diver fails to appear for the dive without prior notification the dive and all payments will be forfeited. You must contact out bookings team on 01383 411 880 if you are unable to attend.
• If you are unable to participate on the given day, we will be happy to reschedule your dive provided no less than 14 days notice is given. This 14 day notice will be strictly adhered to. If the diver gives less than 14 days notice then additional booking charges will be incurred.
• It is mandatory to complete a PADI medical disclaimer prior to the dive. This is a basic health questionnaire. If the diver answers ‘yes’ to any of the questions on the form, please contact us as the diver will require an additional form to be signed by their GP prior to commencing the dive. Please note – doctors may charge fees for this.
• Deep Sea World Dive instructors reserve the right to refuse the medical note, if they feel that the diver is unsuitable to participate and could possibly jeopardise the Health and Safety of themselves and other participants.
• Spectators and (if required) kit hire, must be booked and paid for at least seven days prior to the event. Payment can be made by debit or credit card over the phone.
• All divers must present their letter of confirmation from our Bookings Department on arrival.
• Qualified divers must bring all diver certifications, current and up to date log books or proof of dives within the last six months etc. Failure to do so will result in the cancellation of your dive and no refunds will be given.
• All damages to hired equipment must be paid for in full.
• Qualified divers must have a minimum of one logged dive within the six months prior to the event.
• Qualified divers under the age of 18 must have a parent or legal guardian present on the day of the event.
• Non qualified divers or divers wishing to take part in the Discover SCUBA experience must be at least 16 years of age and in reasonable health.
• All dive experiences are non-refundable, unless the diver is medically unfit to participate. In this case we will send you a medical exemption form to be signed off by a General Practitioner. Upon receipt of medical exemption, Deep Sea World will issue a refund in the form of a cheque (all refunds are minus administration fees.) Dive vouchers may be transferred to another person.
• Gift vouchers for Discover SCUBA, Dive Nights and Shark Awareness are valid for 6 months from the date of purchase. Any extension to the validity period is at the discretion of Deep Sea World and must be authorised prior to the expiry date. Note additional charges will be incurred.
• Once the pool training and / or briefings have begun, no refunds will be given unless operational issues force Deep Sea World staff to cancel the dive.

The Dive Night Experience

Dive Nights are a unique experience that allows fully qualified divers to dive with one of the UK’s largest collections of sharks! Our own team of divers will take you on a tour of our Temperate Reef Exhibit which will last approximately 30 minutes. Spectators can watch your dive experience from the comfort of our underwater safari tunnel. Dive Qualification requirements are:

• PADI Open Water, BSAC Ocean Diver, CMASI Star or recognised equivalent or above.
• Proof of qualifications and medical certificates (if applicable) are essential.
• Individual bookings or group (minimum 8 divers, maximum 16 divers per evening).
• Divers are asked to bring their own equipment. Equipment can be hired from the aquarium if necessary. For charges please contact the Bookings team on 01383 411 880.
• Adult spectators £7.50 each. Child (3-15) and concession spectators £5.95 each.
• PAYMENT FOR SPECTATOS/AND/OR KIT HIRE IS REQUIRED AT LEAST SEVEN DAYS PRIOR TO THE DIVE.

The Discover SCUBA Experience

This unique opportunity allows for practically anybody to dive with one of the UK’s largest collections of sharks! Our PADI dive instructors will take you through a presentation before teaching you how to dive. Once we are satisfied (and you are confident) our instructors will take you on a tour of the Temperate Reef exhibit which lasts approximately 30 minutes. The price also includes two spectators who can watch you dive from the comfort of our underwater safari. Dive requirements are:

• 16 years of age or older.
• Individual bookings or groups.
• Full diving kit provided by Deep Sea World.
• Of reasonable health (please see medical form).
• The price includes one diver and two spectators.

All spectators must be booked and paid for in full at least 7 days prior to the event in order to receive the discounted rate. Any spectators booked after this period will be required to pay the full admission costs and my not be eligible to see the dive event.
